Courses Junior Football is not just about playing matches. It is vital that skills of youngsters are fully developed throuigh structured coaching. All local Football Clubs will offer training sessions as part of team development, with qualified football coaches for age groups from Under 6 through to Under 17.. There is an increasing number of well organised football coaching courses being run by local football coaches - often attached to a Premiership, Football League or Conference Club. The Premiership Clubs are supporters of the Football in the Community projects which includes quality coaching schemes aimed at beginners right through to Academy courses. More information about the Premiership projects can be found on the Premier League Website, which also lists the individual websites for your local Premiership Clubs. Information about junior football in your county can be found from the various County FA sites around the country. A full list of County FAs can be found on the FA National Website Football Coaching for Under 5s Most clubs take boys and girls at age 6 and upwards to prepare them for playing competitive football from Under 6 level. For boys and girls below age 6 who want to get involved in footbal skills coaching it is worth checking out what is on offer at your local Leisure or Sports Centre. Many local Sports Centre run football courses for boys and girls aged 3 to 5 as a stepping stome to competitive football. Independent football coaches attached to clubs or council leisure centrescan also be approached to run special courses for footballers in the aged 3 to 5 category if sufficient numbers acn be found.
