Interested in Junior Golf? - Get Involved with a Local Club

Its never been easier for youngsters to get involved in a Golf Club. In most areas local Clubs will take new players, boys and girls, from aged 9 to age 11 upwards, provided they have achieve a satisfactory standard of play and are aware of the etiquette and rules of golf out on the course.

There will be many excellent Golf Clubs near you which will run well-organised Junior Sections. An extensive database of clubs is held by the English Golf Union (EGU) so that its easy to follow this link to Find a Junior Golf Club from the English Golf Union website. This website also indicates Golf Clubs with vacancies for Junior Golfers. Even if the site shows no vacancies please check directly with the Club as vacancies will often arise during the season.

The quality of the Junior Sections will often depend on the energies of individual Junior Organisers so Clubs will come and go in terms of the strength of their junior programme. Good junior golfers usually join clubs with strong junior sections so its worth watching which clubs are well represented in County Junior Championships and representative teams. This information is usually readily available on County Union websites in the results sections. Follow this link for a list of County Golf Unions websites.
